i still don't get those doll things people keep taking pictures of.

okay, so you took a picture of a doll that you could manipulate however you wanted. great. doesn't mean you could do that with a person, thus it can't count as a portrait. should it count as photography at all? or is the doll simply the palate upon which you're showing your fashion designs, in which case you should actually be able to see what they're wearing... it makes the close-up ones basically pointless.

so, friends of jakkidee, discuss: taking pics of dolls!?

I like the asian ball jointed dolls cause they're pretty. I don't understand using them as photography models though--that's no different from using a barbie or an action figure as a model.

I agree that they're pretty. But it's kinda dumb also when they all look like girls, and yet apparently there are male ones, and some people have whole sets of 'male' dolls that are only male 'cause they're wearing pants and have male names. But that kinda digs into all asian-art type of guys, they all look like chicks. I dunno, I just like my men to be MEN, and my models to be ALIVE.

i just like how pretty they are, though it is a bit creep that they're anatomically correct--the boys have tiny penises. xD

They are pretty dolls, but some people spend CRAAAAZY amounts of money on them. That's okay if you have a crazy amount of money to begin with, but I don't know.
